Thinking a 3600x (or bigger) for an upgrade later, after you get the card, will help you seek out better frame rates.

depends entirely on the programs and performance target

 

there are games that would be fine and there are games that would have issues.

the term "bottleneck" is way over estimated the CPU will do his job and the GPU hers

Often in workloads the GPU tasks do no rely as much on the CPU as gaming does, for example if you render videos with Premier Pro the Nvidia cards only enhance rendering times with the boost from cuda-acceleration, so really it depends on what you are doing.

Yes. The 2600 will have some bottle neck. 

 

The best per core IPC (highest frequency) cpu you can get is what you want for this card. (Intel)

Where 'some bottleneck' is likely on the order of a couple percent--who cares.

 

If this is for school first and gaming second, go for it.

 

If this is for gaming first and school second, that's dumb, but still- go for it. I challenge you to notice a bottleneck without hunting for it.

CPU will limit performance but won't really bottleneck the GPU, SolidWorks in particular uses the GPU heavily, in this case you should get an Nvida GPU, that said a Quadro would yield the highest performance results in CAD and SolidWorks.

should be fine for cyberpunk, whether u play it on high or low depends on the gpu, games the 2600 will bottleneck are toward multiplayer shooters or any ubisoft games.

So the AMD 2600 has less single threading performance of a 6700K. Or perhaps close enough we can call it close enough to equal??

 

Looking at 10% (or more) bottle neck give or take per title if we compare IPC to newer cpu tech.

 

But the card is nice and powerful and without the original poster having an more modern setup, he won't have any way to describe a bottle neck or even really know if he had one until he tries to compare his system to another. 

 

In the end the card will do just fine. 

 

But the yes or no question asked, the answer is yes.

The Lian Li cases are amazing for cable management too, completely goes against the standard case design and they are built solid, glad you like it.
