Hi there,

I've been encountering problems while playing games and I feel that it could be down to the CPU rather than anything else.

I have felt that the PC has been lagging from time to time but for the past few days I have been replaying DOOM 2016 and even on 1080p rather than 2k it's continuously lagging.

You can open task manager to see if it's really only DOOM hogging up CPU recousrces or if there are maybe other programs using the CPU in the backround.

Also playing at 1080p stresses the CPU more than playing on 2k. Lower resolutions lower the demand on the GPU, but push the CPU to output more frames.

Lowering the resolution will lessen the load on the GPU, but will do the opposite for the CPU.

If you're running Doom with DX11, give Vulkan a shot (you can change the API in the video settings in-game).
