CPU UPGRADE FOR STREAMING PC

Hi 

I stream and play games on same pc. Pc specs are i5 8400 gtx 1060 6gb, 16 gb ram2400mhz 

I am planning to buy i79700k 

 

I would like to know will it be a good choice? Should I go for CPU upgrade for my gaming and streaming from one PC 

Will there be a performance boot and will this upgrade help in reducing load of gaming and streaming on my pc?

The GTX 1060 would be limiting you in gaming.

Also you current setup should mostly work fine unless you are after higher frame rates.

if you're streaming, do you use the nvlink asic? The new nvidia cards have upgraded nvlink hardware, can help you stream a bit easier without requiring amazing hardware. Quad core i5 might be a bit weak for gaming in now and in the future, 9700k isn't a terrible choice if you can find one for a good deal but I wouldn't spend list price on one.
