Rtx card go past boost clock?¿

JacobAltman

I feel like i bother this forum so much but it worries me, so i bought the founders edition rt 2070 super, its core clock is 1605mhz and boost is 1770mhz, is it normal for the card to go past its boost clock like say 1950MHZ???? My card is always so hot, i dont know what to do with the fan curve while using msi afterburner i always go

fanspeed/temp

50/40

60/50

70/60 etc.. and it still reaches around 75*c and i know apex is gpu heavy but in apex’s lobby my cards at 72*C (not playing anything), also every now n then when i start up apex it sit in the loading screen with 5 fps and the game stutters, i uninstalled all the old drivers and installed new ones, im so lost. I feel like the higher the fan speed i set it too on afterburner, it doesnt reach the designated fan speed i set it too, like i have 90% fan speed when it reaches 75*c and 80% fan speed when it reaches 70*c

No the stutters and low fps is every once in a while so ill close the game and relaunch and itll be fine, i used the 1060 and it never did that, do you think i should uninstall all remaining drivers and install new ones?

Quite a normal temp, GPU depends a lot in the case airflow.

Better airflow lower temps.

Is there a sweet spot for a fan curve? For the 2070 super?

You can just set the fan speed to 100 while in games and just dial it back to auto after game ends(if you dont mind the noise)

It almost seems like it doesnt push the fan speed to 100 around 70ish the rpm is so low idk why

I have a fan but theres no way for me to install it because the holes dont have threads to screw the fans too, same with the side panel

Fan curve, where im able to adjust everything and i also clicked on “force fan speed update on each period” theres also fan speed update period (in milliseconds) its at 5,000 if that makes a difference?

If i'm not mistaken, since GPU Boost 2.0 (Maxwell) Nvidia card will always boost past it boost clock as long as either temperature, power allow.

75c is fine. Check if there is option to limit FPS in Apex menu. I think Fornite have that option.

Game stutters at loading screen is normal as well.
