Pairing CPU and MOBO

Is it okay if I pair a Ryzen 9 3900X with a B350-F Gaming?

 

I read the motherboard post and it said something about how much energy the MOBO can put out, but only question is does it run and how much does it bottleneck?

 

( I have updated my BIOS already to support the 3rd gen, i'd be moving from a 1600X )

Oh yeahh that's fine, B350's are some of the best boards out there. No bottleneck problem.

The motherboard is in the Tier E, wouldn't say some of the best.

Not really, my question was would it bottleneck so much that its going to make the system unstable.

It wouldn't technically bottleneck the CPU, but you may run into power delivery issues. So it isn't really recommended, that said the Asus B350-f at least has some form of VRM cooling, just don't expect to OC the 3900x, not that it's recommended with 3rd gen Ryzen anyways. But you may want to set the CPU voltage manual to something like 1.250V, keeping the voltage and temps low is ideal.

Just gaming mostly, I hardly edit videos etc.

Recording is a must, but thats already taken care of by the GPU.

 

Nothing heavy, I wont OC the CPU at all. I checked a benchmark on the exact same board and CPU, they got 72 degrees celsius with no OC. Is that high?

I should just buy an X570 ? Whats a good one with good VRM and good troubleshooting leds/post/debug code, price-performance wise?

I feel like the 3700x would be a better option, especially if you just game. It also is a much lower TDP chip so it would be a 'safer' option, motherboard taken into consideration. 

 

65 degrees C is pretty low for that CPU.

Im mainly looking for a futureproof CPU, I am a bit sceptical about the 12 cores which probably most of the games wont utilize fully?

The 9 3900X is on a huge sale, 3700X is quite overpriced considering the deal i'd be getting.

If you are looking to upgrade the motherboard a t the very least get the MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX.

Red Devil RX 5700 XT is quite a big GPU, is there going to be any problems here?

It should be fine, Asus wouldn't make a motherboard that is incompatible with large GPU's, at least I would hope not haha...

But would the 7 3700X be a futureproof option? AMD is quite literally just dump selling all of their CPU's right now because of the upcoming 4000 series.

If that's a problem, all X570 boards are bad because all of them have the chipset fan below the graphics card

If theres no thermal issues with it and it fits, I think it wont matter to be fair. If I had the specifics of the motherboard it could be easier to determine.

 

I dont know whats considered multitasking, but I currently have 15 tabs open in Chrome, PC running Uplay, Spotify, Steam, ShareX and Task Manager. I also listen music from Youtube almost at all times.

What we're thinking are more like Minecraft server + another game, apps you listed usually need extra RAM but not necessarily CPU
