F@H @High CPU Core Count Systems... Problems With Asignments

I have gotten in the whole Unraid thing and build a 2Gamers1CPU. When not in use I do F@H on it. CPU is a 3900x (24vCores) and the system has two GPUs. When not gaming, I spin up my Gaming VMs with only each 2"cores" assigned, wich leaves me with 20cores for F@H though a docker container, there is one for Unraid that works really well.

Now the problem: After like a day off work I get the error: "Empty work server assignment". Switching the core count down to 18c and restarting the docker (so also restarting FAHClient) makes WUs coming in but essentially leaving 2vCores unused.  Soooo am I crunching away all the WUs that are optimized for 20cores or what? Does anyone have more info on this?

Also: Would you suggest leaving one Docker/FAHClient at 18cores and create a 2core one additionally? RAM and storage is no issue in this case.

THX guys and keep on crunching da NuMbErSSS!!

Are you running a separate instance on the VM’s or using them on the main instance? F@H is unable to use more than 20 threads iirc

I am running:
VM for GPU 1

VM for GPU 2

Docker for 20cores. Thats like the. linux client running "directly" on Unraid but only for CPU folding.

More than 20 would be ok, but it seems like that there are only a few projects and WUs available for 20c...

have you tried just restarting the client instead of adjusting your slot

yes... same message: empty work server

And is there a way so that the client switches down to 18c units when it cant obtain 20c ones?

Can confirm here as well. Ryzen 3700X (regular windows 10 install, no fancy vm stuff here)

06:54:18:WARNING:WU01:FS00:Failed to get assignment from '18.218.241.186:80': No WUs available for this configuration
06:54:18:ERROR:WU01:FS00:Exception: Could not get an assignment

(gpu slot is working. cpu slot is waiting for WUs)

Did get a couple over night but none since 2 hours ago

I have it on the default setting (so all of them -1)

EDIT: just received a WU for the 14182 project!

Yeha ok so I did some research. Seems most projects dont like core numbers that are multiples of prime numbers. And yeha 3x5 is exactly that.

There was also a shortage of high atom-count WUs which should now be fixed.

Ahhh! Thank you for the link. Guess ill switch back to large core count then when I get home today. That’s just more continent than having to spilt up and manage three dockers
