for IPS I'd say 27"

1080p on a 27 inch looks stretched.

If the OP has an Nvidia GPU, they could get a 27inch and set a custom resolution of 2560x1440 in the Nvidia Control panel. No stretched nastyness problem solved

How would that work? You cant buy a 1080p monitor and then through a setting magically give it more pixels.

You can force a higher resolution on a monitor through the control panel. I do it on my second and third monitor and I've done it on my primary.

i have the 24 inch counterpart and it's a pretty good monitor, honestly it's up to each individual i guess but a 27inch monitor is a pretty darn big monitor! just be aware of that and be ready to sit far away from it, don't underestimate size of a 27 inch monitor as a conventional pc screen, i think that even my 24 inch monitor is pretty darn big, the reason i don't have a 1440p monitor is because they don't make them smaller than 27 inches, which i think is pretty silly.

I'd second the dell U2312HM. At 23" it's nice and sharp and being an IPS has really great color accuracy. I don't know about internationally, but in the U.K they can regularly found for £120.

Oh, and forcing a higher resolution on a 1080p monitor won't do anything...it doesn't make the image any better.

Linus did a video about a pretty nice 23.6" 1080p IPS monitor.

Personal Build Project "Rained-On"

helped building up the CPU Overclocking Database and GPU Overclocking Database, check them out ;)

but you wont see it. the UI will get smaller, but you cant fill a 1080 long bench with 1440 people, they will have to skip many that will just stand behind the bench, wich you wont see

Forcing a higher resolution does not change the physical limitations of the screen. All it can do is scale the resolution to the native amount of pixels.

Maybe it's like downloading ram.... :D

I dont get it either. The monitor either has the pixels or it doesnt. Resoultion changes from native a just scaled.

1080p on a 27 inch looks stretched.

I was talking about this

http://www.asus.com/Commercial_Monitors_Projectors/PB278Q/

but well it will be too expensive but worth it imo.

more or less pls but still similar XP.

the asus vx something a 23" ips 1920x1080 monitor is good. flimsy stand but pretty good too.

Live your life like a dream.

Yeah, you're just upscaling a smaller image.
