Does disabling cores disable onboard graphics?

Disabled 4/6th my cpu cores now it wont stay powered on, so i think it disabled onboard graphics. anyone know if disabling the cores disabled the onboard, or should a pc stay powered on with nothing able to display from?

 

main rig:

CPU: 8086k @ 4.00ghz-4.3 boost

PSU: 750 watt psu gold (Corsair rm750)

gpu:axle p106-100 6gbz msi p104-100 @ 1887+150mhz oc gpu clock, 10,012 memory clock*2(sli?) on prime w coffee lake igpu

Mobo: Z390 taichi ultimate

Ram: 2x8gb corsair vengence lpx @3000mhz speed

case: focus G black

OS: ubuntu 16.04.6, and umix 20.04

Cooler: mugen 5 rev b,

Storage: 860 evo 1tb/ 120 gb corsair force nvme 500

No, it doesn't disable onboard graphics.

Maybe a BIOS bug?

It shouldn't. Unplug your computer and remove the CMOS battery (it's on the motherboard, about the size of a US quarter) to reset any changes you made to the BIOS.

Thing is, the pc booted to bios fine before i changed the setting. now it won't even stay on long enough to get to bios. or even logo so i think onboard got disabled. is it likely?

and i can't remove the battery on my board, clear cmos button fails me

Why cant you remove the battery? That's pretty much the only option you would have now if you can barely get into the bios.

 the battery is locked in by a medal thing on the corner.

i got cmos battery out, but it did nothing. found way to get system to stay on. removing all sata devices. disabling cores disables sata lanes i think
