Hello everyone,

First time builder here, I just assembled my first PC and went all out for my dream build. I’m still new to PC building and am obviously very paranoid that I did something wrong. I assembled everything correctly as far as I know and I was able to install windows but when I boot I don’t hear the single beep that I have been told I should. If anyone can provide any insight for me I would really appreciate it.

Welcome!

You said you have already set everything up and that you have installed windows, so ill assume everything works, but the beeps.

Back in the old days, you would receive a speaker either soldered onto the mainboard or as a seperate item you had to plug in, like your power and reset button.

These days, this is often replaced with LED's or a small LCD display that will show a code, not many mainboards that still come with a speaker (they generally do have the connection for it tho).

If everything is working fine, and you're not getting a beep, don't worry about it ;)

My bad it's Asus so A0 doesn't mean it's fine compared to Gigabyte.

Thank you for the link I read over some of the possible solutions for that error code. I definitely have the standoffs in place as they were pre installed. The cpu 8 pin is secured in its socket however I don’t have the additional 4 pin hooked up because there wasn’t one included in my power supply. I will try to update the BIOS and see if that helps resolve the issue.

You don't really need that 4 pin, the 8 pin already delivers up to 384W.

Are your rams in A2/B2 ? (2nd and 4th slot from the left)

Have you plugged the tiny/case speaker to the motherboard speaker header?

Yes sir I used the primary DIM slots as labeled on the motherboard which are in fact the ones you have described.

The speaker header is left to the F_panel header.

If you haven't connected it (the small speaker), there's nothing to make the sound you want to hear.

I would still recomend obtaining a one. A local PC / Computer hardware store or repair shop might have them, might even give you a one for free.

Or you might order it from somewhere (eBay, Aliexpress, Amazon, etc).

Do you have an older system, one you could take the speaker from?
