Recently, a small buissiness approched me to build a server. Problem is that they were on a strict budget but still wanted some pretty heavy power. Me, being dumb and young, decided that it would be a good idea to try and run desktop parts instead of real server parts since they are cheaper. Here are the specs:

( I run a RAID card in RAID1 with the 2 SSDs)

I soon found out that windows server 2016 doesn't like windows 10 drivers. Therefore I get constant blue screens and overall a lot of problems. It is my first time building a server so I don't have any experience in that domain. This is why I come to you LTT hivemind. I need a solution but I can't really afford to pay more than 200$CA ish.. I can probably get a refund on most of the pieces since they are almost all bought from Amazon.

Thank you for your time !

Would they accept 2nd hand parts? You can get some pretty good deals on LGA2011-v3 parts right now. Xeons, RDIMM memory, etc.

It does blue-screens with different error codes everytime while updating and straight up doesn't let me install any windows 10 drivers for the chipset or the ethernet card.

You can save considerably on memory (it doesn't need 32GB, 16 GB will do just as fine) and PSU, as the system won't need a 1kW PSU, IMO a 750W version would suffice and you might get away with a 600W PSU as the GPU doesn't need much power.

Oh wait, you already purchased it ?

Can you unzip the drivers and force install using the .inf file?

I also wouldn't recommend running the memory at high speeds. Run them at loose timings and don't aim for 3000 as TR 1 is not exactly easy with memory compatibility.

Might be that your memory settings are highly unstable.

I found a way to bypass the windows version check with the ethernet driver (here is the link: https://blog.workinghardinit.work/2017/06/19/installing-intel-i211-i217v-i218v-i219v-drivers-windows-server-2016-eufi-boot/ ) but never found a way for the chispet.
