Water cooling in Corsair C70

Hi everyone,

I plan to water cool my system, so I can start overclocking and have it more silent. I have a 3770k and a GTX 780 (reference cooler).

The case I have is a Corsair C70, so I was thinking one 120 rad and one 240 rad, in a simple loop.

Only problem is I have never done it before, and I don't want a leak to kill my system.

Can you give any advice? (parts, pumps, res, fans)

Thanks, Alfie.

Pull out all of the drive bays, remove the plastic tray at the bottom, and boom. Now you can fit a 280 at the bottom. Then, put another 280  (thin) in the top. Therefore, you get to keep the intakes and exhausts.

And if you need some drives, you can put the top bay back in. It doesn't need the bottom support.

That is a good idea. Might be better for me if I decide to get another 780 as well.

how attached are you to this case?  the c70 is on the very low end of decent for watercooling.  your best option for watercooling would be to switch to a different case.

I thought the top and bottom only had mounts/room for a 240mm not 280?

Nope, the top and bottom have 240/280 mounting holes.

Not necessarily. There is enough rad space in there (especially with light modification) for 2x 280mm, 1x 240mm and a 120mm. More than enough for even 2 GTX 780s and an i7 overclocked.

it works, but there are much better options available

1 120 rad on the rear exhaust, 1 280 at the top, 1 280 at the bottom (I would go 240 here, not much space between the rad and the PSU) and If you modded the front, you should be able to get a 240 in there (but I don't plan to do that).

You could also put a 280/240 on the side panel, but its best not done.

I've only had it for a while, and don't plan to change it until I move on to the 2011 socket platform in a year and a half, I will be getting a 900d then.

Can anyone check my plan above, also recommend me parts? as this will be the first time I've watercooled my PC.

I might use EK and Alphacool for most of the blocks and rads, and a swifttech pump (used in Linus ultimate "Overkill" water cooled build guide).

Not sure about compression fitting and tubing.
