Mini ITX build (First)

Hi,

I am currently using a laptop which is not fast enough for the games I play (struggles in CS GO 1080p).

I am thinking of upgrading to a new system on a maximum budget of  £1300.

I will using the system for gaming (i am looking to get into more games), Data processing and day to day work. 

I plan on running a 1440p monitor in the future, i only have a 1080p at the moment. 

I have all peripherals at the moment. 

I also plan on using my brand new SSD from my laptop (1tb samsung 860 EVO)

I have chosen Mini ITX because it will be easiest to transport if i need to take it home from University (I understand that computers are not the best to be driven assembled so i plan to find out more about transporting them)

I have not used my Laptop as a laptop for more than a year which is why i have decided not to get another one (i have a chromebook if i need a portable laptop)

Wifi is an important feature that i need

The mother board is expensive but I can not find a cheaper one which will not require a BIOS update with my CPU (help here would be great)

 

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thank you very much in advance.

dont get the 3600x. just get the 3600. its the exact same thing except for like 100mhz. it makes 2% difference. get a cheaper mobo and get faster ram (maybe 3200 will be better). also, get ram from gskill or corsair. those usually have better timings and will perform better. 

 

everything else seems good.

Only get the 3600x if it's just slightly cheaper than the 3600. Your motherboard choice is fine but a B450 ITX board would also be good, I have the Asus B450-I. The Corsair PSU is a good choice but 750W is massively overkill, even 650W is a lot, I'd recommend a 550W-650W unit (at most).

Thank you very much. Pc part picker says this system will draw 394W, with a 3600 it is 364W. I went for a 750W because I thought I might upgrade but if i could reduce this to 650 then that would be perfect. Thank you for your help.

you aren't gonna need more than a good 550w PSU.

It won't draw 394W, my main system, (R7 3800x & 1080 Ti) has never drawn more than 450W, and PCpartpicker estimated nearly 700W, it's just an inflated calculated number assuming every single component is under max load, which never happens in the real world. Like I said 550-650W is the most I would recommend. You can easily upgrade components with a 550W PSU.
