  • There's no point in putting a cooler like that on that CPU. Save up and get the 1600AF.
  • The 212 isn't a good cooler at the price anymore, there are better options.
  • Get a used video card like a 580 instead of that 1050; it's trash.
  • I wouldn't get Razer peripherals, they're not known for their quality.
  • I'd get a 1TB SSD, and spend a tad more for a 1TB HDD if you really need the mass storage.

This is a tad cheaper than your build with a much better performance. Changed the Keyboard and got you a 144hz monitor. Get your windows license elsewhere for MUCH cheaper.

Edit: Save even more by going with the Memory and SSD that @boggy77 suggested. You can save a couple of bucks with the case as well, but the two we suggested are great value.

Added recommendation after I saw boggy's comment.

3000g comes with a cooler suitable for the amount of power it consumes.

You can buy a quad core Ryzen 1200 for around 60$ and that gives you around 10-20% more performance at stock frequency and you can OC it a bit - if you get separate graphics card, you don't need integrated graphics.

You can get Ryzen 1600 AF which is more or less a renamed Ryzen 2600, and the stock cooler is good enough for a start pc.

Don't waste money with a 120 GB ssd. You can just buy a 1 TB SSD and add a mechanical drive later.

No need to buy a 100-110$ mb for a cpu that consumes 40w - that tomohawk is overkill ... 70$ gets you more than decent mb. Even a ryzen 1600AF/2600 consumes less than 100$... even a 50$ motherboard can handle it. What I recommend can do even 10 core Ryzens if you'll decide to upgrade in the future.

Spending 90$ on a keyboard, but cheaping out on video card? The video card and cpu will affect your gaming much more than a keyboard. You can live with a 10-20$ keyboard for a month or so if you have to, until you can get more money for proper mechanical keyboard.

Same for mouse, you could live with a 10$ mouse if you really have to.

Agree with everyone saying get a 1 TB SSD ... leave 2-300 GB of that for your operating system and some programs, rest can be used for games.

I'm also adding a better monitor, because a monitor is something you won't change as often

Here's something that keeps the overall price about the same, but increases the performance of cpu and video card by a lot.

I'm not including keyboard and mouse and Windows license.

That's the AE version of Ryzen 1600 ... aka Ryzen 1st generation. It's not worth 85$.

The Ryzen 1600 AF is worth it, but right now if you can find it in stores it's around 100-105$.  In my configuration a post above, I just went with Ryzen 2600 because it's just 10 dollars difference, not much.

I went with the Lenovo that does 2560 x 1440  but 60 Hz with the reasoning that the video card is not powerful enough anyway to do 144 fps in most games with high quality. The higher resolution would probably make more sense.

If you're streaming games, even more pointless would be high refresh rate, as you'll stream at 60 fps anyway.

For streaming that nvidia card may make a bit more sense, as the hardware encoder on the card is a bit better for streaming. So maybe consider my build, but with a GTX 1660 Super instead ... it's kinda worth the 70$ extra, if you're budget allows it.

Must have linked wrong. Either way, you can get the 1600AF from Amazon for $85.

You can lower the settings slightly and easily get higher frame rates, plus not all games are demanding, and 1080p is easy to hit with the provided video card.

He never mentioned streaming so I'm not sure why you put such an emphasis on it.

can you give use some basic info, like what is the PC used for, currency / country / total budget etc?

that list you put first seemed a lot of cost for very low performance components that are getting out of date technology.  then an expensive keyboard, don't make sense.

there are some people here given you some good options,

you should be able to get away with one drive (1TB M.2 nvme) drive that should be sufficient for windows and programmes and later you can always add extra storage.

put your money into a good motherboard and CPU, you can also look into used / refurbished GPU, get a higher spec for better price.

it looks like you have about $1000 budget is this American or Canadian or other currency?

do you need a full ATX case and m/board? most people now only run one GPU and if basic air cooling etc no need for full ATX (if you want something smaller look at m-atx or m-itx build.

AMD is good for people on a tight budget, you can get good performance per price.

i can make a list if you have info on your needs and desires of the build.

This Entire assembly was constructed by a friend who is newer to pcs

I figured it was in need of help of people who new what they were doing

The cooler is the only thing thag seemed overkill to me.

He is looking to make a good pc for gaming or streaming and I assume he wants the lowest price in total

You can make quite a good pc for 1000$ looking back at that list  :/
