I7 9700K 5.2 GHZ (Voltage good?)

i oc i7 9700k to 5.2 ghz all core, i changed voltage and tried 1.44v ,1.47v,1.48v,1.49v

1.49v was stable, i dont really know too much about oc so, is this ok ?

also when pc idle, when 1.2ghz or so does it consume 1.49v or does it go down when not needed ?

also last, i have 2x 8gb 4266mhz ram running at 4000mhz, does higher ram mhz effect oc of cpu?

1.49 is pretty excessive. personally I'd walk it back, voltage degradation is very real in that range.

Generally speaking, OC experts advise 1.4 or less for 24/7 overclocks on intel.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

doesn't matter what the temps are at that voltage, unless you are using it for only a year, do something like 1.4v max, 5.0 for everyday use.

Agree here, especially the degradation part. Click down that voltage and find a stable OC.

cant it handle for 6-8 months at 1.49? it only goes to 5.2 at gaming, idont really stress(use) my cpu 100%

i readed on reddit that 1.6v does effect cpu deg. 1.4 safest for daily, iam between it

But do you want to fry your chip in less than a year? You must be rich then :D. The performance gains aren't *that* big afterall, you know?
