Same price, same storage capacity, same SATA 3.5. So why there are two of them with slightly different names?

Hmm. According to my spreadsheet, the S3C is SM2254-based while the M8V is SM2258-based. My note indicates that the SM2254 is likely a custom SM2256, which is the SM2258's precursor that works with 2D/planar TLC.
