Around summer time I will be buying and building a PC for my friend, the games she plays are things like Second Life and a few more that I can't think of though I don't think are very heavy on the GPU. I haven't included an SSD but the PC is cheaper and still decent without it, we both deemed that it just isn't necessary (some of you may disagree and this is OK) so we haven't included it.

I think I've done well but here is the build, I've included a PSU that would run a decent video card in the future if she decides that she wants more graphical horsepower.

If there isn't much of an increase then I'll drop the A10-7850K and replace it with the A10-6800K and save a little money

Looks good.

I never understood Second Life..why not just go get a job (you know, a real second life) if you're going to spend that much time on a game...but each to their own.

Everyone hates Win8 and I swear most of it is just because it's expected of them. It's really not that bad.

Once you go SSD, you never go back.

There's a huge increase with the 7xxxk over the 6800.

If you're going to step down I think the 6790k is the one that runs on the newer architecture?

2TB for her needs wouldn't be needed, a 1TB drive will last many years and also what is the difference between those two coolers?

Well a 2TB HDD is the same price as that 1TB, seems like a waste.  The 212 Evo is better at cooling than the TX3 and they're a similar price http://www.overclocking-tv.com/content/reviews/13393/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-fight-hyper-tx3-evo-vs-212-evo/

I feel like the build isn't balanced so to speak. I don't think it is that necessary to spend so much on the PSU in a budget build.

Just grab the CX500M instead, it will be more than sufficient and saves you £40

CPU is perfectly fine for minor gaming. If you want to squeeze out more performance try to overclock the RAM a little.

Save more money by getting the

Fractal Design Core 1000 £29.98

AsRock FM2A88M Extreme4+ £44.43

Both are very solid replacements and will make your platform smaller but still upgrade-able and save another  £25
