Quoting something in USD is pointless; prices aren't directly comparable, and some components simply unavailable in the UK.

No it's not. Unless Amazon.com, B&H and Adorama are Aussie companies.

Even if it was, it'd still be useless.

Hey, maybe something like this? (On the overclockers.co.uk site the MSI 2060 Super OC costs 349 so that saves you another 13 bucks and there are usually 5% vouchers out there for overclockers - that should get you to around 900)

This is what I would consider as best performance for the money. You can totally save money by going with a 2600 or 2700 CPU and a 1660 - that's absolutely enough for CS, LOL and the likes. It's just one option, I'm sure someone else will come up with a more budget friendly build :)

Any of those is a good choice regarding gaming and in addition to the price (approximately $40 difference), if you like you can see a comparison of UserBenchmark, the results on that page are quite reliable, it helps to evaluate the PC of several users and compares the results with other users who use the same components. The Ryzen 5 3600X takes a little advantage to his younger brother, there is only 200 MHz of frequency difference between both models but the "X" models, are usually processors with a consumption of 95 W, while those that do not end in that letter, have a lower consumption (only about 65 W). That increase in frequency between the two processors is so low that the differences in performance between the two are not really relevant, maybe 2 or FPS during gaming. The quality of its factory heatsinks is reputed not to be very good, although they fulfill their mission. Some people believe you will do better by spending $40 of difference between both models on a better heatsink than than buying the Ryzen 5 3600X.

In general, they are very similar components in both specifications and performance, but each has its specialties. The Ryzen 5 3600X will fulfill your demands much better. On the other hand, the Ryzen 5 3600 is a considerably cheaper alternative that will allow you to stretch when buying other components, such as another heatsink or a graphics card.

Userbenchmark has no data filtering of any kind, a large amount of its comparisons are downright wrong (e.g. 4770K vs 4790, R9 200 series vs GTX 700 series, etc.) And their judgement criteria are awful (quad cores vs high core count CPUs)

Those ratings are TDP, which are thermal ratings. They are not related to power consumption.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

@EL_TIGRE Sorry, I just saw your response. I would suggest going with what @Herman Mcpootis suggested, it's an overall better build than what I suggested. I don't think you'll have much trouble with the 5700 XT drivers, but maybe someone who owns one can chime in on that.

Yep! This guy always makes very good suggestions. I would also go for this one...
