would vents be a good idea?

KylorLee

if i decide vents into the side of the case with the clear plastic window in and then placed a fan over it would i see better air blow thermals and would that be a good idea overal if i want to try to make the air flow better in my pc even tho more dust will be able to get in and id have to clean it more often

probably, but it depends. what case, and where would you add the fan?

cleaning a PC isn't really that hard, but also you can buy a cheap dust filter and add it in yourself.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

like if i cut the plastic into vents similar to these builders-edge-gable-vents-louvers-120051 would that make a conciderable difference or at least enough to make cutting long holes in my pc case and putting a fan over it worth it in the slightest?

Ummm...you can just remove the side covers and measure the temps first to see if opening the case at all helps?  I bought a crappy case to start with so just leave the side cover off for peace of mind...that and I leave it sitting on the floor where the cooler air gathers.

it would make a difference, but that style of ventilation is fairly hard to reproduce.

I had cut holes like this to mod a case, you might find this simple design easier

You can make a hole and put a grill with a filter over it with the fan on the other side.

replace your side panel with a bug screen ?  I'm only half joking..you can buy a role of it for cheap and cut to fit ?

we still don't know if your airflow or temperatures are even that bad.

What GPU temps do you get in games? What case are you using, with how many fans? Is your CPU thermal throttling?

Maybe the pexi glass will slip out of the door frame...and you can just tape bug screen in it's place till you make up your mind...if it works for you then you can make it permanent with some crazy engineering..
