 PC blacks out randomly
Almost every time I play a game (Mostly COD Modern Warfare) my pc then aprubtly turns to a black screen with no soundupdates from the game, yet I can still hear my voice chat from TeamSpeak.

My specs are:

  • Windows 10 home 64 bit
  • AsusTek Prime B250M-A (Unknown BIOS update)
  • Intel i5 7500 3.4 GHz (no-clock)
  • 1x8 GB 2400MHz corsair vengenance RAM
  • 2 HDD's for data
  • Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500GB Boor Drive
  • Corsair PSU
  • ASUS 1060 6GB EX Graphics card

As mentioned when I play  games (Mostly COD MW but not only) my PC goes to a black screen with no visual updates, but still audio updates from TeamSpeak but not from the game.

The problem started about a few weeks ago and has been going on ever since, i have never overclocked my pc or changed anything in the bois other than fan speeds for chassy.

please help, thank you

Have you tried updating the GPU drivers? Would best to rule out software problems before looking into possible hardware problems.

If this were a hardware issue it's likely an issue with the PSU or GPU. Could you tell us what model PSU you're using? Corsair's are among the best on the market, but if you're using a lower tier unit such as a VS series or CX (green label) there could be an issue.

Hi BigDamn, i've reinstalled the latest Nvidia driver, and my PSU is a Corsair CX 550.

Did that fix the issue? And which CX 550 do you have? Is it black and gray or black and green?
