So around Christmas time, I had been discussing GPU upgrades but some unexpected expenses came up and I never ended up buying it. Now AMD prices are even higher and I am actually able to upgrade in the next little bit. I currently have a GTX 660/3570k @ 4.4/ H320.

So, with prices like they are should I:

A.) Get another 660

     Watercool or Air cool?

     SLI

     Profit???

B.) Sell the 660

     Get a 680 770

     Water or Air?

C.) Sell the 660

     Get a 7970 R9 280x from Visiontek

     Water or Air?

Or something completely different? Gaming @ 1080 for the foreseeable future. I also fold on the LTT team...

I would sell the 660 to get the 770 and just air cool it if you aren't going to be doing any extreme over clocking. Don't go with the R9 280x and 770 4GB is slightly cheaper and a little better.

Is the 4 gig 770 worth it?

It depends for gaming at 1080p 2GB should be fine, but for more advanced simulators like some of the more power flight sims 4GB would be beneficial. I was just putting it out there that teh 4GB model was cheaper thatn an R9 280x, but for you the 2GB should be just fine.

You could get away with the 2gb 770 for single monitor use, but I'd personally get the 4gb of you're going to SLI.

I am a big FSX fan so 4GB would probably be good. Should I expand on my H320 and shell out the money on a block or should I get a good air cooler? Quiet is nice, though.

What's the system being used for?

Rest of specs? Budget?

Is the 4 gig 770 worth it?

Depends on pricing.

Should I do air or water?

If you want performance for your money and a limited budget, air.

Sorry, been out of town in Northern Michigan without internet. :/

It is my Sig Rig (3570k@4.4, 8gb ram, GTX 660, TX750M, etc.) Like $300-$400. Gaming and Folding. I found an EVGA B-Stock 780 for $400, is it worth the loss in warranty for the price? Or should I just go for a new card? Or should I try to find a 7970 on eBay for cheap-ish?

A 660 to a 770/280X isn't a big jump to be making. You are basically going one step up within the same family of GPUs. I don't think buying such a small jump up is going to appreciably change your gaming experience all that much. Equally I am not convinced that buying another 660 is necessarily a good idea, those are quite low end cards to be putting into SLI. Another 660 is definitely the highest performance option on average, but with the drawbacks of SLI (which is mostly when it doesn't work your down to a single GPU, rare but happens).

My opinion is its not worth doing anything, you need to make a bigger jump in performance on a single card really, at least a 780 or 290 to make the upgrade even remotely worth while, and even then we aren't talking about 2x the performance its only about 1.5x.

Definitely go for the 780 if you can afford it.
