ISO file being stubborn

I've spent quite a few hours trying to make a dual boot system, and spent about $25 on a thumb drive to get it to work. I'm currently running Ubuntu, and trying to install windows 10 on a second partition. My main issue is that I only have one drive, and I can't really make a new partition due to that. So, I'm trying to install windows on the USB drive, however, the ISO file will not copy, with the error message "Error opening file “/media/geem_neadows/929abb24-e502-4f93-909b-e74fb2c5eac9/Win10_1909_English_x64 (.iso”: Permission denied". I'd love to be able to transfer it, as I'm tired of troubleshooting and searching for solutions. Does anyone know what to do?

why don't you just use the media creation tool to make a bootable USB and then format the rest of the space on the drive to carry the files? or leave the files on one side of the system, wipe the thumb drive of the installer after and then transfer the files across?

I actually completely forgot about that part of the process. Thank you for reminding me!

I see you've got this solved already, but just to answer your question you should be able to open a terminal window and do a 'chmod 777' on that file. Should clear up that error.

Thank you, I'll remember that for the future for when it happens again!

This is a good read if you'd like to know more about this command (you will be using it on Linux). chmod 777 simply sets read, write, and execute permissions for all users.
