So I am looking at the Asus TUF x570 Mobo. But I was just browsing on Amazon and saw I could get a crosshair hero x470 for like $20 more. Is that worth it, getting a high quality x470 or a med quality x570? Also I see on the crosshair hero that it has a bios flash button. Would I be able to flash the bios without using my 1700x in it? I'm leaning more towards the crosshair because I don't really care for pcie gen 4. Feature wise and quality I believe that the crosshair is leagues ahead of the Asus TUF, right?

in terms of vrm quality and temps, they are the same. so it's up to you and what features you need. i'd probably go with the crosshair if you don't need pcie gen4

3700 or 3800x. What about the bios issue? I'm full custom loop so it would be nice to not have to use my 1700x to put bios on it

The Crosshair does have a better VRM setup with more features too except for PCI-E Gen 4, it will definitely lack that if it makes any difference to you. Aside from that the TUF isn't that bad, it's just not in the upper tier of the Asus lineup.

I personally like the feature set on the crosshair. I just wasn't sure if it was worth it instead of x570. If all I'm losing in gen4 pcie then that's not bad at all.

X470 as long as you can get it supporting Ryzen 3000.  Simply better board and for me PCIe Gen4 IMO isn't worth it at the moment...

I have the Crosshair VI Hero X370 and it can support the 3000 series of Ryzen which I was planning on upgrading to here in the future. The Crosshair VII X470 would be worth it.
