Laptops get hot, that's fact

Have you taken a look at actual temps?

If CPU/GPU load temps are under 85C then yeah, I would say it's normal.

My laptop doesn't get overly hot?  Yes around where the GPU/CPU is maybe but nowhere near the ~85C temps that are being shown while gaming etc.

I did buy an aluminum laptop tho,  that was honestly at least equally important than specs to me.

Because that just makes more sense from a heat dissipation standpoint and is more sturdy too obviously.

While laptops tend to run hot, this seems a little outside the norm. You mentioned you have had the laptop for a year, have you had it cleaned out? (Physically, of dust.)
