I recently bought a new system. It was my first build, I used a corsair VS450 PSU, Vengeance x2 4GB RAM, AMD Athlon 200GE APU, ADATA 128g SSD, a hard drive (1 TB) and a GA-A320M-S2H V2 motherboard.
After watching a YouTube video of how well the system preformed I was very disappointed with the performance. Is there something I did wrong or could change? Other than saving money and buying a GPU.

Thanks in advance.

What speed is your memory running at?

Go to Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) > Performance > Memory > Speed in the bottom right corner.

That could very well be default at a lower speed.

It's averaging at about 2-3 GHz

Base speed: 3.20 GHz

You talking about cpu speed but @minibois asked about memory speed

The case doesn't matter, the cpu doesn't produce enough heat that the case would affect the performance.

The whole system without a dedicated video card will consume less than 100w, so the Corsair vs 450w is more than enough.

The A320 board is a bad choice, because it doesn't allow you to overclock the cpu, if the 200ge can even be overclocked in the first place.

It probably also limits the memory frequency to 2666 or 2933 Mhz at best (I think 200ge is limited to 2666 Mhz)

In the end you have only 2 cores, and only 8 gb of memory, best you can do is go in Windows 10 and optimize it by disabling unneeded services, disable the graphics effects in the interface if you don't care about them etc etc

That unfortunately still does not mention the RAM speed.

Thanks everyone for your help, I restarted my PC a couple times, each time testing it, and it seems to work fine now. I can hear a whirring noise from inside but unsure of what its coming from. Also, in the task manager there is no speed for RAM.

Great to hear your PC is running fine now. If you are ever interested in finding out your RAM speed, you can consult a program like CPU-Z to see it. Reason I brought it up is because when you use the integrated GPU, it runs on that memory, so fast memory is preferred.

The whirring noise could either be a cable stuck close to a fan, or just the noise of the fan itself (or the noise of an HDD)
