It's not been unusual in the past that older or more commonly used mainboards were able to be used with the most recent processors while some of the state-of-the-art mainboards didn't get the necessary updates. Just look at two examples, Wolfdale and Carrizo.

I suspect it will be compatible with Ryzen 4000.

AMD has since the launch of Ryzen said that AM4 as a platform would be supported until 2020. I always assumed that included 2020.

But of course you have to keep in mind some more stuff too, like A320 not being officially Ryzen 3000 compatible, but still many work with it.. plus there is no B550 yet. If they wanted to phase out B450, they should have hair a mainstream chipset by now I think

If going with a 5 series Ryzen I doubt you'd have any issues with the VRM setup, should be fine.
I too don't have a reason to think Ryzen 4000 won't be supported with a BIOS update, however it will probrably be the last that is supported by that chipset series.

I know it's a B450 but I don't see the name of the manfacturer anywhere.

Is it this one? https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-b450-i-aorus-pro-wifi/p/N82E16813145086

I say that because I did check and noted you've mentioned Gigabyte in the past.

ITX is just the form factor of the board itself.

Nah I was supposed to pick that one up but I spent the extra $30 for the Asus one.

In the new Mobo tier list it went from Tier C down to Tier D

From what I saw gleaning the Asus lineup the Strix should be capable without worry, the others I'd be like "Eh" about it.
If you have the Strix version you are fine, it's basically related to the VRM setup that I'm looking things over here. The others in that lineup for ITX have the lesser VRM phase/setup - Although they should be able to handle the chip I'd have to say basically no OC'ing with those.

Even though the chip's wattage is the same as the others in the upper tier (105W) it's extra cores/chiplets will create a higher draw that would ramp up more steeply compared to the rest when OC'ing.

Get it, run it at or around stock and you should be fine.
