How do I mirror from pc to smart tv???

I can stream youtube from my pc to my vizio tv. But is there any way I can use it as a display/mirror the image to it? I have done the simple thing in adding it to devices in the settings, but it shows up under other devices and not a display. Like I said I can stream youtube from my pc to the tv but how can I mirror it. I have looked up videos and other forums but there is not answer. I came across some stuff about something called widi and I think an alternative option was this a Microsoft p3q-00001 wireless display adapter. I am not sure if this would work, but i simply don't see why it won't work if i can stream stuff to it already?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. My PC is a desktop that I built, (not a laptop).
