Best college laptop for under $500?

qwrtiy

I'm looking for a good laptop for under $500. I'm gonna use it for assignments, YouTube, and some other stuff. Nothing heavy like gaming. I don't mind if it's a Chromebook or Windows laptop but I need suggestions. Thank you

For under $500 you'll be looking at the used market I'm afraid.

I use a Samsung Chromebook I got for $300. Check out best buy for student deals and the like, they often have discounts.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

Only yours, you don't shitpost on the same level that we can, mainly because this thread is finally dead and should be locked.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

If you're looking for something great but cheap, go for one of these it's one of HP's business line laptops. It's a 4th gen i5, 8GB memory with another slot for more, and a 180GB SSD plus comes with Windows 10 pro for $200. I have one for doing onsite tech work, haven't had a single issue. Upgraded it to 16GB of memory and 480GB SSD for $80 more and it has a 90 day return period through amazon and a 1 year warranty through the refurbishing company.

Under 500$

This is kind of the best pc that fits in your budget. Has plenty of power with a 4 core 8 thread i5 8265U, 8gb of ram, 256gb ssd and a fingerprint reader if that matters.

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-i5-8265U-Keyboard-Fingerprint-A515-54-51DJ/dp/B07RF2123Z/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=Laptop&qid=1577426406&sr=8-5

Under 300$

Still a decent laptop with good performance. In this system you're looking at an i3 7100U, 4gb of ram and 128gb of storage. I'd recommend adding another stick of ram in to have 8gb for a better experience but other than that is alright.

Around 200$

In this budget, unless you're buying used don't get a laptop with windows, basically you're stuck to chromebooks if you're buying new. Now the lenovo has a mediatek processor which is a mobile processor and I don't really have a very good idea about its performance. However its got 4gb of ram, 64gb of storage (more than most chromebooks in this price range) and a 14 inch 1080p screen (higher size and resolution than most chromebooks in this price range).

https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Chromebook-MediaTek-Processor-81JW0000US/dp/B07GLV1VC7/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=Chromebook&qid=1577427273&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExRlBGTE5XWUUwVDJBJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMDU4NjU5MU1EMzNPWDRLT1dZOCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNjQ0MzU0M1RSVjA1OTBEQVU1USZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

Disclaimer: I can not confirm how good the screen actually looks that is why I'd recommend looking for reviews for these devices before buying one of them and perhaps take a look at them in a store if possible.

Also at last, it doesn't have to be amazon where you get your laptop from, if you find it cheaper elsewhere go for it, also if you find better devices at the same price point then go for it.
