Get a new PSU.

Your PSU was probably not made for the type of build you're making.

 

In theory you could plug the 4 pin into the 8 pin slot and hope you're alright, but your PC expects all the pins to be connected and may ask for more wattage that it just can't get through the 4 pin.

what kind of PSU is that , it must be a very old group regulated psu that can supply a max of 190watts on the EPS cable 

 post your full build components including make and model of the PSU
