Socks while building PC?

Hey guys I am building my first PC today! Because I'm a little terrified about static and that sort of thing, my question is: can I wear socks while building (while standing on marble floor) or can that build up static electricity?

Thanks in advance!

I don't see why not.  I can't see it producing any static electricity if that's your concern.

Hmm.. To be extra cautious I would recommend wearing sandals for optimal unstatic electricity like.

Just plug your PSU into the power on the wall and touch it and you'll be safe (PSU doesn't need to be plugged in). People overstate the dangers of static electricity.

I know that wearing socks is the least I should be concerned about but I am that type of guy that is just concerned about every little think! Thanks for the reply though!

It's quite easy and logical to test...

Walk around in your socks on the floor, then touch a something.  If you discharge a spark... then you know.
