Good afternoon focks, I am new to using this but I was wondering if I could get your support. I have a Clevo 230st Gaming notebook which has an Intel i7-4700MQ and an Nvidia Gtx 765m however, I am having some issues with the graphics card. This being that if I update to the latest Nvidia drivers my pc crashes with video TDR faliure or freezes because of consatnt GPU spiking. I have previously used the Clevo website nvidia driver but they have never been updated so they are from 2015 so I am unable to play the modern games I want to and I know my laptop can run. So I hope that someone out thier can help me. I have tried all the forums online and nothing seems to help.

Kind Regards Joshua

For most notebooks you can only use the manufacturer's drivers and the official drivers won't work. It's also possible the newest drivers no longer support that GPU, so you'd have to check which version of the Nvidia drivers is the last one to support the GTX 765m.

I've only had HP notebooks, so that might be the issue, because I could only ever use their old/outdated drivers and never the official ones. Could also just be an AMD limitation though.

Good to know. I've had two older HP mobile workstations (nx9420/8740w) and AMD never supplied drivers for them, I was always limited to HP's.

My HP laptop (Ryzen 3 2200 with Vega) is running perfectly with Adrenaline 2020.

This. I'd also recommend you DDU the system and clean the Nvidia drivers properly before trying an older version.

2015?

Sounds like you need to clean install windows.

Then the new drivers will probably work correctly.

Don't use ones from the laptop website, use geforce experience and let it install them.
