I can't seem to find any direct videos comparing the 9100F and the R5 1400. But this should give you a rough idea. The 9100F performs slighly better than the 8100 as far as I can tell.

you should grab a b350/450 board which gives much more (oc) flexibility & better stock cooler

Go for AMD because of the upgrade path, buy a good motherboard and in the future you will be able to upgrade to a much better CPU.

With the B450 TOMAHAWK MAX you will be able to upgrade to even the 16 core 3950X in the future.

That's just with first gen Ryzen and first gen chipsets if i am not mistaken.

I know that, but in 4-5 years OP will have better compatibility after a future upgrade (assuming OP is going with a B450 board).

Nope. In 5 years, he's better off buying an entirely new platform. AM4 is on it's last year.

Upgrade path is always over emphasized.

Yes, let me buy a cheap cpu today that's already behind the curve with intent to upgrade later......makes so much financial sense.

Just get a 3600/3700x today and worry about what's good in 5 years......in 5 years.

We'll probably be on DDR5 by then anyway, which will necessitate a new platform.

Definitely. Like even if you're comparing it to the 3950x, in 5 years an entry level chip will likely be just as powerful...so why not just get that, and a new motherboard, etc?
Then not only do you get new stuff with warranty, you can sell more of your old hardware to cover the cost.

Haha, in 5 years we'll probably be a year off of DDR6. DDR5 is supposed to enter market next year.

It's even funnier when people note upgrade path as a feature for guys upgrading from core 2 quad or phenom systems......bro they are upgrading on a 10 year schedule no amount of upgrade path is going to be worth it just buy what's relevant at that time.

for gaming i recommend going with the 9100f now hear me out its cuz your not gonna do multi threaded work with it and since your going with a lower end chipset that hasnt been made for multi threaded applications etc i recommend going with a more single threaded cpu also zen 1 is really old at this point and showed signs of age and since you wont take advantage of that apu on the 1400g you might as well get the 9100f for a stronger single threaded cpu

Just putting this out there, but a lot of these comparison videos are completely fake

Saw one where it compared to systems and they got exactly the same results I every test.....which won't even happen if they were exactly the same part.

Hey hey, how does AMD generally compare to Intel in terms of their thermal output? I was thinking about making a fanless build based on the Streacom's DB4. Do you think there's much difference between CPUs of similar capabilities of AMD and Intel? Which one would produce less heat thus be easier to cool passively? I'm not considering overclocking, just stock speeds and voltage.

I was watching DragonBall Z a few days before and then I realized, they have imagined the perfect way how AMD "risen" above Intel in terms of Performace/$.

If I was you, I would definitely go for AMD, but not the 1st gen. A good used 2nd gen CPU is even a better deal, but if you can squeeze it out somehow, then a Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 3 3400G.
