Upgrading an Acer Aspire 1 A115-31-C23T

Maxpphire

My mom got me an Acer Aspire 1 A115-31-C23T for Christmas and for a travel buddy it isn't bad. However as a travel buddy, it isn't really powerful enough for my uses. I want to be able to play some basic Local Player games on it (Think Jackbox as a good example but not the only ones on the list.)

Getting an external hard drive is for sure on the list, but so is a new CPU which is probably my top priority, and maybe looking into a GPU depending on what I'm feeling after the CPU replacement. RAM is low on the list because 4gb isn't a bad starting point and will probably be just fine for my needs.

The only problem is I'm having a hard time finding a list of compatible CPUs. Anyone have any suggestions? Would like at least a 3.5ghz CPU.

You wont be upgrading your CPU and GPU. I bet even ram is soldered on. Get a better laptop.

Part upgrades in laptops are basically impossible to a normal consumer, aside from a hard drive or *possibly* ram.

Everything is soldered.

So even if I knew my way around a soldering tool (Console and Arcade hobbyist here) I would assume I'd still be sol?

You need to do BGA soldering, you probably would need to also solder VRMs, get a better power supply, mod your bios and also hope all that works. So yeah, not happening. I am not even mentioning your motherboard most likely has no space for GPU either.
