Sudden Monitor Black screen amdkmdap error? Sapphire 5700 XT

Hello, recently I had this issue when my friend was watching a 4k music video on a 1080p monitor. And suddenly, screen turned black and the music just stopped. The computer is still running. I tried removing the dvi cable and plugging it again from both monitor and GPU but nothing worked. While unplugging the cable from the GPU, I felt some heat coming out of the GPU (RX 5700 XT). I restarted my PC from the power button and it ran fine again.

 

I did some stress test for from both cpu and ram for 10 mins, everything worked out nice. 

 

I started superposition benchmark ( 1080p extreme ) for a bunch and got a score of 5009 assuming the benchmark ran well. 

 

I checked my event viewer and it showed me the amdkmdap error. The error that haunted me that happened with my laptop.

 

I hope it's only a driver issue. My gpu is still young and I hope there is nothing wrong with it.

It might not be the GPU driver but the chipset driver. Which bios version and chipset driver version are you using?

Do you mean the motherboard? Or the GPU? I forgot to say that I have an a320 pro vh plus msi mobo. 

 

My pc was running really fine before all of this happened.

It says here that the bios version of the gpu is 017.001.000.042, BIOS date 2019/06/16

also I have this issue where when something is being processed on the computer (like scrolling through facebook and google), my pc emits a quiet buzzing sound. I think this happened when I upgraded to an SSD.

I'm not talking about the vBIOS but the UEFI of the motherboard.

1 -  Run DDU in safe mode and clean all drivers AMD related

2 - get new 2020 version of drivers

3 - Get all new chipset drivers 

 

Dont use any overlay . If you have a junk psu please change it.

I already have the new drivers for the GPU, but I haven't tried to DDU it.

 

I have a SeaSonic s12II 520w.
