I got an M.2 SSD and I have no idea how to configure it.

So I got an Samsung 970 Pro Plus. I know how to physically install it but I have no idea how to configure it as a local drive D:, it is recognised in the device manger under disk drives. Could anyone please help?

Do you want it as a spare drive, or as your boot drive?

Google:  "howto give drive a letter".

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

control panel -> admin tools -> "computer management" -> "disk management"?

Open Disk Management and Initialize the drive as GPT GUID (if it asks). Find the drive which will likely have a black unallocated space. Right click that unallocated space and click New Simple Volume, then go through the steps, give it a name such as DATA, use NTFS at 4096, Quick Format ON, Compression OFF, Finish. Done.

Workstation:

Mobile Workstation:

MacBook Pro 15" (2017) | Intel Core i7 7820HQ | AMD Radeon Pro 560 | 16 GB RAM
