Posted November 27, 2019 I have a Meshify C. I like the look of both cards those being the 2070 super founders edition and the gigabyte gaming oc 2070 super. They are basically the same price. Im thinking about buying a vertical gpu mount so thermals are unaffected, although the gigabyte model is too long to fit with a mount (the 3rd party mounts add length too long for my case). Do you like vertical gpu mounting, what would you go with FE Vertical or AIB Horizontally
 Posted November 27, 2019 I think the only cards that are worth putting vertically are RTX Gigabyte Aorus lineup with LEDs on fan tips. Those looks real classy. Others are just meh. Or maybe if you have some great looking water block. Posted November 27, 2019 I really like vertical mounting as long as it doesn’t affect thermals. It eats up some of the dead space in the case.
Posted November 27, 2019 It's a matter of thermals. Perhaps some cases can handle it, but others are not so well designed and essentially suffocate the card against the side panel when mounted in such a manner. I would never recommend anyone do this if that is your situation since for me, form should never come at the expense of function. Solve your own audio issues | First Steps with RPi 3 | Humidity & Condensation | Sleep & Hibernation | Overclocking RAM | Making Backups | Displays | 4K / 8K / 16K / etc. | Do I need 80+ Platinum? For me, even still I wouldn't bother, but that's totally subjective. I think it does look better though and in theory it also avoids the issue of GPU sag, and in the process takes stress off the motherboard. Posted November 27, 2019 i want it to be placed flush against the motherboard so the airflow from the front actually moves the hot air from the front case. though it would mean vertical mounting actually helps in thermals. theoretically.
