Best 27", 1440P, 120/144Hz, non-curved, GOOD COLOR ACCURACY monitor under $500?

Hello all,

 

I am looking for a new monitor, basically for work, but I also like to game, so going with high refresh rate this time.

 

- GOOD COLOR ACCURACY is non-negotiable. (100% sRGB or whatever it is called).

- 27" preferably

- 1440P

- 120 Hz or 144 Hz

- Preferably under $500

- NOT curved (I do CAD work and the curve messes me up)

 

I am totally not up to date on what the good monitors out there are. So any recommendations would be appreciated.

I second this. I just recently bought this monitor on sale at Microcenter and I can't believe how solid of a monitor it is. Going to pick up a 2nd one very soon.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I will look up some reviews on these monitors.

 

The LG seems pretty solid, pretty good color accuracy for a gaming monitor.

 

Cannot seem to find much info on the Acer XV272U color accuracy, apart from that the manufacturer claims deltaE <2 and DCI-p3 95% coverage (the LG claims 98% coverage).

For what it is worth, I do video editing and color correction/grading on this monitor hasn't been much have an issue and it is actually a really pleasant experience. Are there better monitors out there? Absolutely. But for the price point of $299 you are getting a lot.

Okay, thanks for the feedback.

Sadly this monitor is 399 EUR in my area, so a good bit more expensive. The LG 27GL850 is 499 EUR. But if the LG is supposedly better (as people seem to think it is) I don't mind paying a bit more.

 

The LG seems to have slightly better colors, and has a faster response time.

Just want to add that there's the LG 27GL83A which may or may not be cheaper in your area. It's the same panel as the 27GL850, just different backlighting and no USB hub.

THanks, its actually 50 EUR cheaper.. is the backlight worse?

It's not worse per se, some people actually prefer it compared to the NanoIPS lighting. It's just a cheaper-to-produce lighting thats standard for most monitors
