Will a RX 5700 XT be compatible with my current system?

I found a decent deal on a RX 5700 XT, and I just wanted to be 100% certain that everything was compatible.

Just want to be sure that there will no issues in terms of comparability with the MOBO, and in terms of clearance in the case and whatnot.

I relise that I may be asking a bit of a stupid question, but I don't have much experience in PC building, and I don't want to spend hundreds and find out it doesn't work.

The GPU you linked is 300mm long and your case supports a lenght up to 400mm if you take some unpopulated Hard Drive bays out. Other than there there should be no compability issues, everything in your system is still pretty modern.

The 5700XT will work with your PC no problem, just run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to clear your NVIDIA drivers before installing your AMD drivers.

 

But do note that the 5700XT is only about a 20% bump in gaming performance compared to the GTX 1070. You will lose CUDA if you use any programs like premiere pro etc in turn losing performance there.

 

The 5700XT you have linked also seems to be quite abit more expensive compared to other 5700XT cards listed.

All GPUs that are better are also more expensive. The 2070 Super is probably a option close to that price, but it isn't a great value compared to 5700xt models with better prices than the Strix like the Gaming OC and Pulse.

I'm not buying from the US, but rather Norway (i.e. land of some of the most expensive electronics on earth).

 

The one you linked, currently would cost me 5162 NOK (563 USD), but the one I linked which normally costs 6006 NOK (655 USD) is currently on sale for 4899 NOK (534 USD).

 

So that's why I'm looking at the ASUS one, because while the full MSRP is higher, I can currently get it for cheaper than any other 5700 XT in my country.

From this video (could be unreliable) it shows the 5700 XT getting about 50% more FPS in the low end, and in some games almost 100% more FPS though? Do you have somewhere I can look that shows the 5700 XT being just slightly faster than a 1070?
