what motherboard are you looking at?

X570 supports Ryzen 2000. For PCI-E 4.0 lanes you need zen 2 meaning Ryzen 3000 but without graphics (since 3200G and 3400G are Zen+).

2700X does not have PCI-E 4.0 support.

So to summarize, all x570 processors will support Ryzen 2nd generation and Ryzen 3rd generation. Only the Ryzen1st gen and the pre-Zen processors will not be supported.

PCI-e 4.0 only works with processors that know about pci-e 4.0, which is Ryzen 3rd generation processors that use the Zen 2 cores (all Ryzen 3rd gen except the ones with integrated graphics, which still use Zen+ cores)
