Hello,

I have an old computer with the Gigabyte EP45-UD3L motherboard.

My hard disk drive has failed and so has my laptop. I took out the m.2 Sata SSD from my laptop and bought a usb sata ssd enclosure hoping to boot from the ssd in the enclosure via USB port on the motherboard. Doesn’t seem

to work but it can detect it.

Any advice on how I could get it to work if even possible? I know the SSD is still working.

Thanks,

D

Plug it into a different system but as a secondary drive, not a boot drive.

Then you can copy the data off.

Yeah I know that would probably work but the reason I’m trying to boot off of it is cause I don’t have a working computer right now. Hard disk drive of desktop broke and memory issue on laptop. Hence why I’m trying to see if I can boot off the ssd on desktop computer
