Is a GTX 1650 a good match for an i5 2500(k)

LordMacrae

I previoulsy posted about the best GPU to go with my i3 2130, I've since bought an i5 2500K for £18, would a GTX 1650 now be a good match? My motherboard doesn't allow overclocking, but there were no non-K versions available, and the 2400 was basically the same price.

Ideally I'd like to be playing games such as:

Jedi Fallen Order

COD Modern Warfare

Doom Eternal

Cyberpunk 2077

I have no 6-pin power, but could use 2 x Sata to 1 6-pin

EDIT: I've also increased my RAM from 8GB to 12GB of DDR3 1333MHz.

CPU - Core i7 4770 RAM - 16GB DDR3 1600MHz GPU - XFX RX 470 4GB

SSD - 1TB TCSUNBOW X3 PSU - 500W Aerocool Integrator

The 2500K was a mistake,

You should have gotten a 2600K,It can play Red Dead Redemption 2 on High settings 60 FPS.

I would rather suggest looking for something like an RX 570 or a used GTX 1060 6GB, as that's about as high as you can go with your CPU. They'll both be faster than the 1650.

That being said, if you go with either of those options, I'd definitely suggest also buying a PSU, because a power supply that doesn't even have a 6-pin power connector really sounds like a hazard for your entire PC. If you don't want to or can't replace the PSU for some reason, then go for a 1650 that doesn't require external power.
