Custom bios for Gigabyte GA-X79S-UP5-WIFI?

So i just got this board for quite cheap, i saw it's not like most other X79 boards. Most other boards have an X79 chipset, but this one has the workstation C606, meaning that it should, in theory, support Registered ECC. But as far as i see, it doesn't. It supports Unbuffered ECC...which runs on most boards out there anyway, but it doesn't show registered ECC as being supported and from what i googled, it's not.

Which got me thinking that it could be blocked by the BIOS. I tried to google around but found nothing on any custom BIOS for this board that would enable R-ECC. I saw a thread about someone getting a custom BIOS from TechPowerUp, but i found nothing there.

Does anyone know if this is possible? Obviously i'd run a Xeon CPU on the board, the question just remains about the R-ECC memory support, could that be locked in the BIOS or is it locked in the chipset itself?
