Worth upgrading to z370?

I currently have h310 and one 2400mhz (cl 15) and 3000mhz (cl 16) is it worth upgrading to z-370 and a memory stick matching with ny current 3000mhz ram. Is there going to be any noticeable gain in fps? 

 

Cpu - 8400

You don't have an unlocked processor so no, you could just get another of the same 3000mhz module you have so you can use the higher speed but with Intel it wouldn't be a noticeable or worthwhile improvement.

A second 2400MHz dimm would be fine, the 8400 with dual channel memory is decent in gaming. What's your performance target anyway, something make you think you need DDR4 3000?

It will be in some games, IIRC GTA V will have a 15-30fps jump (depends on location in game) between something like 2666Mhz and 3000Mhz RAM. Though for most games yeah, really not a noticeable difference.

Can confirm. Ran an i5 8400 on an H310 mobo with 2x8Gb 2400Mhz DDR4 for a little while, kept up with my Radeon VII pretty darn well. Unless you're playing masses of GTA V or Fallout or something, and not getting an acceptable fps number, upgrading isn't really worth it.

Depends what it costs. I wouldn't buy a new board, but if you pick up a used one for like $60 and sell yours for $30, then yeah, absolutely.

Otherwise I don't think the cost to performance would be worth it.

If you want more performance, see if you can flash the XT bios onto your card.

You can't use 3000mhz RAM with those boards.

Intel also does benefit from higher speed RAM, and it's been that way for a few years now. It's not like the days of DDR3.
