How would a pair of EVGA GeForce GTX 690's perform mining for coins?

 

(Or possibly GTX 790's at some point when they're released)

Nvidia is not good at mining. You need AMD to get good hashrates.

It would be about 400MH/s which is about the same as a 7970 for many many times the price.

A 7970 gets closer to 650 Mhash/s

 

A single 7870 will compete with dual 690's for mining.

Will work for electronic components and parts

It has a little to do with CUDA and how the different GPU's run and their cores. The reasons are very complex and technical, so I don't really understand them well.
