5700XT/2070SUPER IN PCIE3 MOBO?

Hello im looking to upgrade my pc this black friday but my motherboard has only PCIE3 (Asus strix x370-f) and both these graphic cards are PCIE4.

 

Asus support said it will work since the GPU can backwork but will it work at full speed? or it will be slower then it should?

Yes everything will work. For the record, only the 5700xt is PCIE Gen4... No Nvidia cards are Gen 4 yet.

Yes they will, current cards dont benefit from PCIe 4.0 x16 over 3.0 x16, especially since these two arent the fastest

PCI-E Gen 2 x16 hardly benefits even the 2080Ti in games, according to the benchmarks I've seen...

Titan V in DX12 multiGPU can bottleneck at PCIe 3.0 x8, but who bought Titan Vs without HEDT platform CPU anyways

so im safe to go for either 5700xt or 2070super(if i fined a sweet offer on bf) and it will not bottleneck with my current rog x370-f mobo , 2600cpu, 16gb 2400mhz ram, 650w gold psu?

I'd go with the Red Devil or the Gigabyte and it's up to you if you'd like to wait for black friday.
