Hello,

I want to purchase a 2K Ultrawide monitor (3440x1440). My current PC has the following hardware:

  1. RTX 2080 (MSI Gaming Trio X)
  2. Ryzen 7 3700X
  3. 16Gb Ram @ 3600Mhz

Specs that I want the monitor to have:

  • IPS or VA (no TN)
  • 35" max.
  • HDR
  • At least 8 bit colour depth
  • Min. 100Hz
  • Optional: G-Sync

My budget would be a maximum of 1000 dollars. Could you please recommend me some models that would fit in my above mentioned specifications? (or at least be close to what I want)

I am open to other suggestions as well.

This nomenclature doesn't really exist, it's a 1440p ultrawide that's it :P

2K is 2048x1080p which is Cinema standard.

That aside where are you buying from? Romania? Does Viotek exist in there?

No, it's 2.5k. Although people just say 1440p.

Make sure to quote or tag me (@JoostinOnline) or I won't see your response!

Technically not, but every one started calling it 2k because 4k nomenclature become mainstream even though it also is technically wrong.

4K is 4096x2160p but they sell monitors with 3840x2160p and call it 4k... in reality it's all marketing slang if you want to be accurate always just write down the resolution you're talking about.

@K.Emil Well what are the alternatives you have on your country? we can see which is the best.

if you're refering to site's, then:

No I'm asking the monitors, there is no point in advising models that could or not be present on your market or that while good value somewhere might not be the best value there and so on.

I believe the best way for you to get to what you want is make yourself a list of all 1440p ultrawides that are in your reach, let us know and  then we can go through them one by one to find your best choice.

shouting random monitors in here won't be of use to you, nor am I up to browse websites in a language I do not understand to do everything for you hehe

Alright, so my list would be:

  • ASUS PG348Q
  • ViewSonic XG350R-C

  • BenQ Gaming EX3501R

  • Alienware Gaming AW3418DW

  • Acer Predator X34A

I think these would be all of them. Personally, I am leaning towards the BenQ and Asus.

Let me know what you think.

Alienware is the best all-rounder imo. x34 is decent too. Do you want it for gaming, watching movies, creative work?

@Zeddex i will use it for story driven games, like:

  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Witcher 3
  • Outer Worlds
  • Elder Scrolls 6
  • Dying Light 2 etc.

Additionally I will watch plenty of youtube vids and an ocassional movie. This would be it.

Alienware is probably your best bet, but if you happen to want deeper blacks for movies and yt then you might want a VA panel found in the benq.
