Built my pc and as soon as I booted up a game I get artifacts.

I built my first pc and when finished I opened the game rust and It started crashing a few moments after I started walking around. And it started to get worse, now it's to the point of seeing artifacts right after booting the computer and it won't even load games.

The pc has a:

I5 9600k

Asus strix 2070 oc

Asus prime z390 mobo

Evga 600w psu

I have clean installed all my drivers and tried resetting the gpu in a the second pcie slot.

If anyone could help with ideas It would be greatly appreciated.

could be busted ssd/hdd. If you used your old pc's drives they could be broken. Download aida64 extreme and bench your gpu, cpu, ram and storages

I lowered the memory clocks earlier and it helped for a little while but it kept getting worse.

You need to RMA your GPU, mate.

Anything i've written between the * and * is not meant to be taken seriously.

keep in mind that helping with problems is hard if you aren't specific and detailed.

i'm also not a professional, (yet) so make sure to personally verify important information as i could be wrong.
