Am4 dead Zen3

I don't think am4 is dead, and I don't think ddr5 will happen in zen3. It is going to be a 7nm+ node.

am4 will be at least supported till end of 2020. DDR5 might (I think it will) be introduced with the release of the new AMD CPU's in 2021.

nobody said that am4 was dead, official statement afaik is am4 is supported throuh 2020; which would mean another generation.

This is more like a status update. But no, AM4 isn't dead yet. Even when it's not supported, anymore, by new CPUs, it still won't be dead.

Everything I've read has said until 2020. Which would mean 2 more months.

Oh, i've actually always read until end of 2020. Ill have a google, If i can find that presentation of AMD. Might of been reading it wrong the whole time haha

I've always read it as "upto and including 2020" - so if there's a release that year it will still be AM4.

Now that will depend on whether Zen 3 is like Zen 2 to Zen or Zen 2 to Zen+ (in other words, refresh or rework). That' said DDR5 hasn't reached servers yet so far, so no rush for that even in the next socket after AM4
