DSLR for beginners recommendation

Go to solution Solved by ThePointblank,

The bulk of the stuff that's in that kit is stuff that is either useless or crap. As you get more serious about photography, you'll be replacing practically the bulk of the stuff that they've thrown in there with higher quality items.

And I would be very careful about buying refurbished Nikon gear off Amazon; for one, the camera or lenses could have been a grey market import, and Nikon is exceptionally strict about grey market reselling; Nikon will automatically deny service to a grey market import item, even if you are covering the cost. And yes, Nikon can tell if an item is a grey market import.

I would recommend this Canon refurbished Rebel T6i with the 18-55mm lens instead:

It's an much better camera with more features, such as WiFi, and a flip out touch screen.

Hi guys.

Looking for a DSLR camera kit. My budget is about 400/450 usd. I'm a beginner and I want the camera for learning purposes. I would like to have lenses that are good for most shooting situations. I was looking at this Amazon listing but you guys should know what's best.

T3i/4i/5i, plus a 50mm prime lens. You can also get the Panasonic G7 for that.

The one you linked is another option, though honestly you don't need the 70-300.

If you're not in a hurry, wait for Black Friday.

True, but for $420 for everything that kit provides, that's a great value given everything it includes.
