Streaming from CPU or GPU for max FPS?

Go to solution Solved by Roswell,

OBS with nvenc will give you higher FPS but sacrifice quality, CPU encoding will give you better quality at the cost of FPS on CPU dependent games.

You'll need to pick one.

I'm looking to Game & Stream from the same PC with very best FPS available to me.
Here are my Specs..
CPU: i9-9900k

GPU: RTX 2080 Super

RAM: 16GB 3200 Mhz
I use  Xsplit to Stream at 3000 Bitrate, 720p, 60FPS.
My internet is FioS Gigabit hard wired,

Looking to Stream Fortnite and other Games.
What would be my best options to maximize my in-game FPS?

9900k and 2080.... it literally doesn't matter just use what xsplit recommends. you could even stream at 1080p with out a issue what so ever

i'm not seeing anything saying the build is hypothetical

its a joke, because these sort of questions are everywhere and no one have the brain to actually test it themself and get the most accurate answer

GPU encoding will impact performance less than CPU. In that case, NVENC is probably the one you'd be going for. QuickSync is another option, but if you want to use that, you'll need to enable your CPU's integrated GPU, and the quality isn't quite as good from what I've heard.

If you want the "very best FPS" then you should offload all of your encoding to a second PC through a capture card, and you'd use CPU encoding for the best video quality. Many capture cards even let you passthrough the signal to a monitor with very little input lag. If you do this, you wouldn't need a very powerful CPU in the streaming PC.
