GTX 1660 or RX 580?

So yesterday i made a post asking what the best sub 200 pound gpu is and someone said the RX 580 was and another said a GTX 1660 was.

For me the price difference is about 20 pounds (RX 580 ~ 170) and (GTX 1660 ~ 190) but the 1660 requires less power and gets 10 more FPS on average. So which one should i get

I dont want to buy used BTW

They are both fine at those prices..1660 is slightly better I'd say.

Wait. RX 5500 series is there to replace the RX 580. Coming this quarter, cards have been spotted. And there's also rumors of Nvidia launching cards at the end of the month too (A 1660 Super and a 1650ti/1650 Super).

1660 is better overall. With some overclocking it can reach 980 Ti level while 580 could not.

calculate the percentage difference depending on the benchmarks you've seen and see how much percentage wise the price difference is.

if the percentage difference of the price is lower than the performance gain, go for the 1660

Often nearly new 580's come up used on eBay for around $120, so if you're not worried about new that's an option and a hard deal to beat.

The GTX 1660. Plus, you get the new Turing NVENC in it, which for anyone even remotely interested in game streaming and Plex, makes it worth it.
